Post-post-mortem: ambitions too big, wrong tools

So, the title says it all: something went wrong among the way and the project will never be as planned.

First, I chose an engine with ease of use in mind. Though at start it sped up the development process, it soon became cumbersome to expand the game with new features. I'm not blaming the engine for my failure. The engine works fine, it simply wasn't the right tool for the job.

Second, my development pipeline wasn't susteinable in general. Sprite animation, level design, and so on: what I planned to do in a week, actually took a month of work.

When personal problems came in, I had to face these fundational issues in my project and I decided that keeping it going was simply pointless. I hope my next attempt with videogames will be more succesful.
